Oohh! FreizeitWelten 2021, the event that was to combine six individual trade fairs for exciting out-of-home leisure activities all under one roof from 24 to 28 March, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"As much as we would have loved to follow through with this event, the continued high COVID-19 infection rates, the new strict lockdown in Germany, and the unforeseeable future development of the pandemic are making it impossible to hold northern Germany's biggest recreation and tourism trade fair in March 2021. To provide all stakeholders with the most reliable basis for planning that is currently possible, we regretfully decided to cancel," said Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO, Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.
The “oohh! FreizeitWelten” event unites six special-interest trade fairs under one roof: REISEN HAMBURG for general travelling, CARAVANING HAMBURG for camping enthusiasts, RAD HAMBURG for bicyclists, KREUZFAHRTWELT HAMBURG for cruises, FOTOHAVEN HAMBURG for photography, and AUTOTAGE HAMBURG for car lovers. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it had originally been postponed after consulting with the exhibitors and partners but now has to be cancelled entirely for the year 2021.
"We sincerely thank all parties involved for their support and trust, in particular our faithful partners who have spent the past weeks putting all their efforts into making oohh! 2021 a reality,” Aufderheide continued. "Now we look ahead to the year 2022 full of hope and anticipation: From 9 to 13 February the next oohh! FreizeitWelten will take place on the campus of Hamburg Messe und Congress. We are beginning to plan for the event right now."
