CCH Division:

In connection with the revitalisation of the CCH complex, the inner-city Park ‘Planten un Blomen' was enlarged, and traffic areas and paved surfaces were reduced. This not only benefits various animal and plant species but also helps the city cope with the increasing frequency of heavy rains and days of intense heat.

When Hall H of the Congress Center was built in 2007, one of Europe's largest herbaceous plant rooftop gardens was created on its roof. It serves as a habitat mainly for insects while helping reduce the inner-city traffic areas and other sealed surfaces.
