3 GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

A company can only operate sustainably and successfully as long as its employees remain healthy. Our company enjoys key advantages, such as being centrally located in a secure city where public transport connections are excellent. To ensure the long-term well-being of our team, we have introduced a multifaceted health management program. For example, through our internal HMC Academy we offer stress prevention courses. In addition, we regularly hold Health Days which provide instruction on physical exercise and healthy nutrition.

Staff sport groups, company-owned bicycles and support for active participation in a variety of athletic events complete the picture. Another health-related initiative is our annual free influenza immunisation campaign.

The very basis for health and well-being, however, is a good work-life-balance. Therefore HMC offers a flexible working time scheme which includes flextime, part-time and home office arrangements. Employees may also take a sabbatical.

CCH Division:

Only DGNB-certified construction products are installed in the new CCH, which means that they are free of harmful substances, from sustainable production and recyclable.

The location next to the park Planten un Blomen enables natural ventilation of the building during the day and cooling down at night.

The air quality in the rooms can be regulated depending on the number of people, and the operating temperatures are adjusted according to the season.

The facades result in a high availability of daylight in the foyers, and there are many visual connections to the outside. Modern LED lighting and artificial light with changing light colors by day and night are available.

The acoustic loops in the conference rooms are characterized by good speech intelligibility.

The entire building is designed  for barrier-free accessibility according to the two-senses principle, e.g. tactile guidance systems lead to the halls.

The reorganization of the traffic around the CCH increases traffic safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

The park Planten un Blomen surrounding the CCH was enlarged by the dismantling of Marseiller Strasse and offers participants and visitors an ideal place for recreation and relaxation.
