SMM 2008 attracted 53,006 trade visitors and 1,968 exhibitors from 100 nations. No other maritime trade fair boasts such a high proportion of international exhibitors and visitors. And these outstanding facts and fi gures characterise the signifi cance of this premiere industry event – and explain why it enjoys such an exceptional position.

 
Exhibitors in buoyant mood

SMM 2008 achieved another exhibitor record by attracting more than 1,968 exhibitors from 56 nations. 64 % of all exhibitors were from abroad.

A total of 87,000 sq m exhibition space in 11 halls and on the open-air grounds was also used – a new record for the world’s leading shipbuilding fair.
