Innovation forum This forum provides a platform for the interdisciplinary exchange of
ideas on manufacturing topics. It gives an insight into current issues from
various points of view, presents possible solutions, provides valuable comments
and uses practically-oriented examples.

Workshop The basic theme of the workshop is 'Make, Buy or Ally' – make it
yourself, purchase or organise a manufacturing network. The workshop shows how
companies can manufacture products of the highest quality in an economically
viable way even when experiencing fluctuations in workload.

Purchasing and Logistics Symposium
This symposium discusses how to save costs in both of these business-critical
areas. Well-known speakers raise important issues such as cost management
concepts, avoiding structural problems on the supplier’s side and much more.
Laser innovations The special show uses presentations as well as information from both
theory and practice to demonstrate how companies can use modern laser
applications to tap into new markets and create a more effi cient manufacturing

Guided class visits
In eight slots of 30 minutes, visiting groups will be guided around various
stations. This gives young people an interesting and informative overview of
modern technology, and enables them to learn about practical applications,
professions and educational establishments.
Die Physikanten The show by Germany’s largest scientifi c comedy group includes
spectacular experiments and amazing effects. The interactive show is a station
on the class visits, and one which all visitors to the trade fair are welcome to
watch.
Presentation and introduction to CNC technology in the
NORDMETALL InfoMobil The CNC experts on board NORDMETALL’s InfoMobil explain the basic
principles of drilling, milling and turning using CNC technology, and describe
what modern workplaces in the metal and electronics industry are like.
Teacher information afternoon Engineers or university teachers show teachers from specialist
science and technology schools and partner schools of Hamburg-Harburg’s
University of Technology (TUHH) the trade fair through the eyes of an engineer.
Advice to school leavers Special advisers give pupils information about careers and the
further education routes that they need to take.
Exhibition of historic machine tools This exhibition by the Hamburg Museum of Work gives an insight into
the rapid development of manufacturing technology.
