COOPERATION BETWEEN HAMBURG MESSE AND REED EXHIBITIONS ON AIRCRAFT INTERIORS EXPO
PARTIES SIGN JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENT UNTIL 2014

Hamburg, Germany/Richmond, UK, 29.01.2009. Today the German trade show organizer, Hamburg Messe and Congress GmbH and Reed Exhibitions announced a long term cooperation for at least five years in organizing "Aircraft Interior Expo", the world's leading industry event for Aircraft Interiors & Cabin System Engineering. This agreement underlines Hamburg's attraction for the aviation, tradeshow and tourism industries.

"This is good news for Hamburg as well as for the Aviation Supply Industry in our city", says Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO of Hamburg Messe and Congress GmbH.  "For more than eight years, we have enjoyed a successful relationship with Aircraft Interiors Expo and today's cooperation agreement has sealed a long term partnership with Reed Exhibitions and the Event.  Based on feedback from the industry we believe that Hamburg provides a good match for the needs of Aircraft Interiors Expo. Together with Reed, we can now offer the industry a long term perspective here in Hamburg." The next event is scheduled from March 31 - April 2, 2009 at the Hamburg Expo Center.

Added Alastair Gornall, CEO of Reed Exhibitions, "We are excited to secure a long term relationship with Hamburg Messe. Our know-how in organizing Aircraft Interiors Expo will be well complemented by the services Hamburg Messe can deliver to this industry. The event has steadily grown over the past years and for 2009 we will present our largest show ever. We would like to thank Hamburg Messe and Congress as well as the efforts of the city of Hamburg for the contribution they have made in achieving this".

The 10th edition of Aircraft Interiors Expo is expected to attract buyers from the international aviation industry looking for the latest in aircraft interiors and cabin system engineering. The past event in 2008 generated 12,000 attendees and 530 exhibitors.

Asked about the future development in aircraft interiors and cabin systems, Jean-Peter Jansen an aviation consultant and former Manager of Deutsche Lufthansa remarked, "We expect a short term decline in demand and some consolidation within this industry. At the same time, new aircraft such as the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 will offer opportunities in terms of developing their interiors and cabin systems. Environmental issues and energy efficiency will also become more important. Areas such as in-flight entertainment, light weight products and technologies and better sound structure will stimulate future innovation. Future demand will be fuelled by a balance of comfort and efficiency."

All this means that Hamburg is one of the world's major locations for commercial airlines as the city has 36,000 aviation related jobs supported by 300 suppliers to the aviation supply industry. More than 4,000 jobs and revenues of 595 Million EURO annually are currently created by activities related tradeshows taking place on the Hamburg fairground. Each Euro spent at HMC is followed by 7,60 Euros expended by exhibitors or attendees in shops, restaurants, hotels or for transportation.

"The city of Hamburg has created a very pro-business environment supporting us in all our activities to expand the cluster of aviation related industry events at Hamburg Messe", adds Aufderheide. "We take an active part in attracting the aviation industry to our city and look forward to growing Aircraft Interiors Expo together with our partner Reed Exhibitions in our newly expanded tradeshow centre."

As well as hosting many exhibitions in the aviation sector, Hamburg also hosts trade shows in the marine and shipping industries as well as security and defence.
