Hamburg is Germany’s second largest city, and yet it has more waterways and at
the same time more green spaces than any other city in Germany. Hamburg is known
throughout the world for Europe’s second largest port and for the Reeperbahn -
the German version of Las Vegas. Hamburg is not only a great maritime city, but
also one of the top conference and exhibition cities. Following the new
construction of a 7000 square metre multi-function exhibition hall and the
associated conference area, the CCH-Congress Center Hamburg has regained its top
position in international competition.
This modern conference centre has expanded its exhibition space to a total of
10,000 square metres with the new hall, which fully meets the requirements of
the international conference and meetings business. Together with the new
conference area, the CCH has more than 23 fully air-conditioned conference rooms,
some of them suitable for partitioning, and seats a total of 12,500 people,
including 6000 in the new exhibition hall. Despite this, the compact design
means that everything is still close together at the CCH, with conferences and
exhibitions near to one another, and all on one level. That makes the CCH ideal
for large international conferences accompanied by extensive trade shows.
The new CCH not only provides optimal infrastructure, but also award winning
technical facilities - the new sound system in Conference Hall 1, which seats
more than 3000 people, was honoured with the Sinus-Systems Integration Award.
Another major benefit of the CCH is its attractive location - CCH visitors can
walk from the foyers straight into Europe’s largest shrub roofgarden. The
landscaped park directly adjacent to the CCH is an attractive place for
recreation, and the attractive city centre is just a few hundred metres away,
with shopping facilities, hotels, theatres and restaurants. The transport
facilities are also outstanding - Dammtor Station, voted Germany’s most
attractive railway station, is just a few steps away, and Hamburg Airport is
only twenty minutes away. The Hamburg Trade Fair site is only a few minutes away
on foot, with an easy walk through the park. That means the CCH is not only a
venue that keeps things close together; comparison with the eleven leading
conference and exhibition venues in Germany shows that Hamburg is the venue with
the shortest distances.
