More than 450 exhibitors from all the sectors of equine sports will be present to present their best and latest products for the horses’ well-being and the joy of the riders at the Hamburg fairground from 20 to 22 April 2018.

Ambitious equestrians, leisure riders and owners or first-timers will find a unique, versatile, innovating and fascinating offer to discover and try. Up close and personal encounters with noble horses and cute ponies of more than 35 breeds in the numerous show arenas make a visit to HansePferd Hamburg an unforgettable experience.

An endless array of attractive and innovative offers in all the areas such as e.g. leisure, dressage, jumping and eventing, horsemanship and work in-hand, in seven halls, awaits the visitors of the favourite fair for horse fans in the north of Germany. Trendy riding outfits, the latest saddles and the matching bridles - that make the heart of the riders beat faster and contribute to the well-being, will be there to discover and buy. A huge range with a large selection of equine sports accessories invites you to shop, browse and try on - including bargains. Horse friends will experience valuable insights and a large choice around the topics of horse health and feed, horse keeping and transport in direct exchanges with exhibitors and professionals. Western fans will enjoy the Western and horsemanship area with a wide selection to pick from. In the island village exhibitioners present the best for the lively Isis, who will also demonstrate their walking type live on a fino-strip.

Ponies and horses of more than 35 breeds

Horses, horses, horses: 300 horses and ponies of more than 35 breeds are awaited at the fairground in Hamburg and can be admired live. Holsteiner, Hannover Trakehner, noble Lusitanos, fiery Arabians, proud Pura Raza Espanola, tolting Icelandic hoses, cuddly Haflinger or the large cold-blooded breeds – the noble four-legged animals are present in the daily programmes in the show arenas and the large show hall. You can observe renowned trainers who will give you tips on how to interact with horses.

Trainers and experts up close

HansePferd Hamburg is a pure experience. Visitors will enjoy an attractive programme with more than 100 shows and talks every day. Education is the focus. Popular trainers show different methods that contribute to a harmonic and trusting interaction between horses and riders. Exciting shows in the large show hall encourage and inspire, in the training ring, in the breeds ring, the horsemanship ring and the extreme trail course. Visitors will gather new knowledge in clear demonstrations and educational talks in the health and equine competence forums.

There is also a lot to do and to enjoy for families and children: an active blacksmith for example, where children can forge a horse shoe for good luck. Of course the parents can also “strike the iron while it’s hot”. At the Little Kids Ranch in the Western City Golden Valley the little visitors can throw lassos and horse shoes like real cowboys. 

“Heartbeats”: the new big Gala Show

Big emotions and impressive riding skills assorted with exciting show acts from the fascinating equine world - the new big Gala Show “Heartbeats” will get under your skin and touch your heart. The best and most popular actors come to this unique event, specially created for the evening programme. European stars and regional audience favourites have also already confirmed they will take part. The French riding artist Mélie Philippot is expected with a moving presentation. She will ride a Pas de Deux with her adorable Shetland pony Josie, that will steal the heart of the audience. Another exciting and powerful top act is already announced too: the absolute favourite Icelandic horses tolt and tear through the hall to enthusiastic applause from all rows of the audience. The big Gala Show, presented daily in the show hall at 7.30 pm, gives you hours of dreamy impressions and unforgettable moments in motion.

The HansePferd Hamburg equestrian trade fair will be held on the Hamburg exhibition grounds from Friday 20 April to Sunday 24 April 2018 and will be open every day from 10:00 am to 7 pm. The big Gala Show “Heartbeat” starts at 7.30 pm on 20, 21 and 22 April 2018.
